Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to take the DELE B2 exam?+

No — it's optional. The course prepares you for it, but many students take B2 for fluency without ever sitting the exam. If you do want the certification, we integrate targeted practice throughout.

Where and when is the DELE B2 exam held?+

DELE is administered by the Instituto Cervantes several times per year. We'll help you register at the nearest official site (Washington DC area has options) and align your prep with the exam date.

How long does B2 take?+

Around 160 hours — most students take 8–12 months in a group format, or 4–6 in an intensive private track.

I already have B1. Can I test into B2 directly?+

Yes. A short placement chat confirms readiness and identifies any B1 gaps to close quickly.

Is B2 enough for a professional job in Spanish?+

For most customer-facing, marketing, HR, or general business roles — yes. Legal, medical, and highly specialized fields typically require C1.

What comes after B2?+

C1 (Advanced), which includes DELE C1 prep and takes you toward near-native competence.
